About You
I really enjoyed the insight because it allowed us to have a global view of many different sectors within the bank. Furthermore, I really liked the fact that business people gave us in-depth insights that are more valuable than the website contents. Finally, I liked the work-shadowing session as it is a unique opportunity to see what is the real work behind the desk even if business people were very busy and couldn't allocate much time to us.
I think that HRs have done a really good job because they have prepared many things for us, ranging from presentations to networking events. I really felt valued since UBS teams had invested time with us to give an insight view of the bank. Everything was done in order to facilitate our integration and enhance the networking opportunities.
I received many guidance during the insight since HR people were always here to explain us how the day would be. Also, at the start of the week, when you don't know anyone, I really appreciated the fact that everything was done in order to let us meet the other interns. Then, I could network with other students and business people more easily.
I think that the skills I developed during this week are mainly related to a deep understanding of banking functions and jobs. Therefore, this insight program will help me to make good choices for my future career path. It will also give me keys for future technical and competency-based interviews. Finally, it reinforced my willingness to work within the Investment Bank industry.
The Company
It was well structured. At the start, we had many conferences with business people. They explained us their daily job. Then, later on, we had workshops to do, related to the different divisions at UBS. Those tasks gave us a proactive opportunity to understand what people were doing for their respective jobs. Then, we had work shadowing sessions that were really interesting since we could actually see how business people were working. Finally, I really liked the fact that we had networking opportunities all along the week.
Before coming, I was a bit afraid because I thought the atmosphere would be very competitive between the interns. In reality, I was totally wrong. In fact, the atmosphere was nice, with many approachable students, HRs and graduates. I really enjoyed the way people connected to each other. Consequently, I was more relaxed and I could enjoyed my week even more.
Thanks to work shadowing and presentations I could have had a real fair view a what it is to have a full time role within UBS.
Everything Else
Yes many opportunities that were really valuable.
I enjoyed the social event we had in the bar on the first day. However, I would have expected more events like this one. Also I was a little bit disappointed by the fact that they were only few business people. It was rather done in order to meet with the other students.
I think it is a really valuable experience that help you to make the good choices for your future career path. It helped me a lot to discover UBS, its values and atmosphere.
