The Role
Relaxed but highly productive atmosphere.
It's like one big family here - regular social events.
Very well supported by both colleagues and management.
Workload varies according to the particulars of your project, but there is always productive work to be done.
I was given absolute responsibility over my personal time management. As long as I delivered productive work each week, I was free to structure and prioritise my own time as I chose.
Not only is proficient programming a very useful skill to have for the future, I had the opportunity to hone my analytical and problem-solving skills in a context outside of degree work.
The Company
Plenty of chill-out space, relaxed, open-plan office (even directors share the same desks as interns), well-equipped kitchen and gym. Lots of different social events in the evenings.
I always had enough work to do, and there were always several people who could help me out with problems.
Permanent staff spent a fair amount of time running training classes and reviewing code.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
They want me to come back permanently.
The Culture
Interns were mostly placed together in a team, at first at least, so we had a good opportunity to get to know each other and learn together.
London is expensive...
London nightlife is alright.
Almost every week some sort of social event.
