    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Very informative program with lots of content. Lots of opportunities to ask questions. not 10/10 as the information focused on one area of the program, and didn't give as much information about other areas of the program. (high focus on Transactions Services, with less information given about other areas of Deal Advisory (Corporate, Restructuring and Strategy)

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Felt very valued, with a lot of events allowing us to speak with members of staff from all levels of the organisation.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • A lot of information was given (content heavy and very full on 3 days) however, as stated previously, the information given was mainly focused on a particular area of Deal Advisory, rather than Deal advisory as a whole.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • We took part in multiple exercises (both group exercises, presentations, networking events and individually assessed exercises) as well as work shadowing. These all allowed me to see which skills are needed to work at KPMG, as well as what skills are looked for in the recruitment process.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Very well structured, with contact with various members of the company, from all levels of the hierarchy and all areas. From partners to data analyst specialists.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Very much an informal atmosphere, which was beneficial as I felt more comfortable and was hence more willing to ask questions and approach members of staff.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Lots of exercises, networking events, work shadowing. these all allowed me to develop my soft skills.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Work shadowing was particularly useful to see what staff are doing on a daily basis.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The company culture was obvious from the moment the program began. There was a high focus on the values and behaviors which the firm are based on. The assessed aspect of the insight program tested how well we can relate to these.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Only reimbursed for "reasonable travel expenses" Therefore had to pay for hotel for 4 nights through personal savings (very expensive due to being in Canary Wharf, and being given only 2 weeks notice before the program began)

  • Yes, networking events and question and answer sessions took place multiple times throughout the program and were a daily occurrence.

  • Not really, more focused on the day to day running. Only found out some things that employees can get involved in outside of work through networking and Q&A session (not formally spoken about within the program)
