About You
The insight days schedule was designed in a way that packed everything that I wanted to find in a multitude of activities, presentations, tasks and discussion panels. It was a good combination of fun, technical information and little challenges. I got to know everyone who was also attending and make new friends.
I felt valued mostly because of the opened atmosphere and that both the staff and the other participants were communicative, friendly and opened to constructive feedback. The moderators tried to make everyone get engaged and asked for our feedback at the end of the programme. It was clear that every participant brought their own contribution through the way the insight was run and I particularly felt that during the team tasks.
As I said before, those insight days provided a good mix between technical knowledge and opportunities to enhance some transferable skills that can be definitely useful in the future. At the end they even gave us a session about how to make strong applications and to structure CVs. They also told us what are the qualities that they are looking for during assessment centers and how to perform there.
The Company
It was structured pretty well, with enough time dedicated for presentations and breaks/ lunch. In the first day we were introduced some general information about the bank's activity and their corporate culture (values in which they believe, what actions they undertake to demonstrate their commitment). In the second one we went a little bit into depth regarding their departments and the way they operate.
the general environment was really relaxed but stimulating on the same time, mainly due to the fact that the activities' moderators were really friendly and willing to make us to get engaged into them. We were encouraged to put ourselves forward and to not be afraid to speak whatever we felt like doing so.
I managed to understand how would be to work full time in a company like that mainly owing to the fact that the speakers in the discussion panels gave us lots of detailed information and tips regarding how they succeed in their fields. Some of the also designed activities that reproduce on a micro scale the work load within their departments.
A lot. They put much emphasis on this aspect and on the importance of selecting candidates with the same personal vales, that can make a good fit for their company. They provided us with plenty of details about the causes that they fight for, how their current employees make an impact in society (through the societies/associations that they developed and voluntary work) but also about the business ethics.
Everything Else
They reimburse the transportation costs in quantum of one hundred pounds. This includes only the public transport means (bus, train) and they do not cover expenses such as taxi. Accommodation expenses are also not reimbursed. In addition, they provide refreshments and lunch during the time spent at the insight days.
yes! I would definitely recommend this experience to a friend. It offers a strong informational background with respect to the services and areas where a ban can operate, with particular emphasis on Bank of America, multiple opportunities to meet current employees within departments as technology, audit, operations, current graduates and get a real sense of what working for them feels like.
