The Role
The placement offered experience in many fields. I now have a deep understanding of design-in process of electronic equipment, customer support and technical knowledge on debugging and troubleshooting.
The team was really supportive and happy to share their valuable knowledge with me.
I had a full support from my mentor, supervisor and manager.
The workload was perfectly balanced, giving me some time for amazing side projects. Time management was not a problem and teamwork was a crucial part of keeping the agenda balanced.
I was treated just like any other full-time employee, which translates to a lot of responsibility and dealing with highly confidential information necessary to do the work.
I was given a lot of valuable trainings such as protocol analyser course, python programming, weekly tech updates. I've also learned about other fields of business through my peers, one example could be EMC testing procedure. Due to the nature of my position (OEM support) I have gained broad experience and knowledge in various fields of engineering.
The Company
Most of the time the atmosphere was just brilliant, but there were also periods when we were not sure about the future of our team due to organisational changes.
As you would expect from such a big company, everything was very well managed and professional.
The company was quite keen on supporting my development and they invested quite a lot of time, effort and money on my training.

Getting a graduate job offer might not be as easy as one would like, at least in my field. Time will tell.
The Culture
A lot of very well-organised socials and parties. Karting, dinners, weekends away.
It was relatively expensive compared to my student's accommodation.
Pretty cool, playing games all night. Going out is not my cup of tea. Neither my flatmates'.
There are always opportunities everywhere, you just have to put some effort into making the best out of them.
