The Role
I really enjoyed the internship as it was challenging and involved such a wide range of learning experiences
Everyone who gave me work gave good feedback on all work and made me feel like part of the team
There were training sessions, Q&As and meetings set up for us to give us support and guidance
There were queit and busy periods as there are with most jobs. It was my responisibility to control my workload, so if I didnt have much work I would just email around the office to see if anyone needed help.
Apart from scheduled meetings and calls it was my job to manage my workload so there was a lot of responsibility. Any work for clients was always checked and reviewed by a colleague to ensure it met the standards required.
As well as general soft skills like teamwork and time management, there were a lot of job specific skills that I developed. In my case this was specific pensions calculations, using the actuarial software, and improving my excell skills.
The Company
Everyone was welcoming and friendly
My experience of the internship at the Leeds office was very well thought out and planned. I learned a lot about the company as a whole as well as the job.
Towers Watson provided many invaluable learning experiences. The training was excellent, and we even got to have a Q&A session with senior consultants to learn more about the future prospects of the job.
Company Parties/Events
I am very pleased to have been offered a job for next year
The Culture
Everyone was very social, both the interns and the employees at the office
Leeds is a relatively cheap pace to live
The nightlife was great.
There were qualification drinks, Barbeques and lots of Friday afterworks drinks
