About You
The insight was really enjoyable straight from the beginning, we were set in teams and had to do really fun tasks as icebreakers. I made lots of great friends there and had the employees were lovely.
We felt valued straight from the start. Straight from the beginning you are told how important and how much they invest into the spring week by a senior staff member and are constantly reminded throughout the week.
We got lots of guidance and support, the firm constantly held networking events so we could speak to people and gain perspectives and ideas about where the career could lead us so we could make an informed decision for ourselves.
We learnt some really good skills that you couldn't learn in your university degree, such as public speaking, interpersonal skills and how to present yourself in front of different types of people.
The Company
The insight was extremely well structured with a solid layout that was printed and given to us beforehand. It made sense and was very well organised and understood by all.
The atmosphere was incredible, it was as if I had been in the class for years. Everyone got on really well and the recruiters especially were very nice and friendly to us. I didn't expect to have such a great relaxed atmosphere and don't think it could be found in any other spring week.
They really made sure we learnt something out of the experience. We learnt all different types of important skills that would be needed in the workplace.
The work shadowing was so useful to understand and get a grip of what its like to work in the firm. The markets shadowing in particular was amazing as you got to shadow on the trading floor and get a real feel for the atmosphere there.
It was incredible to see how relaxed and lovely it is to work at bank of america and every employee was saying how happy they are to work there and the positives of working at bank of america compared to other banks. You got a real feel of whats important it in bank of america which was teamwork, leadership and being an interpersonal person.
It was really good to see whether or not banking was right for you or not. You got to choose your divisions that you would be interested so you could decide fro yourself what you liked.
Everything Else
I didn't need reimbursement since I live in london but everyone who did need to be reimbursed was and was given a hotel to stay it if they needed.
The networking opportunities were abundant with the first two nights specifically meant for networking giving you a real chance to make what you could out of your spring experience. Finally on the last night we had a dinner were we could chat with all the representatives and employees and understand more about the work culture.
They were really good, there were drinks and food coming round and music to make sure that everyone was relaxed and had could get along with each other.
Yes we found out about all the volunteering opportunities that bank of america does.
Definitely would recommend.
