The Role
I had a variety of work to do and if there was something different I wanted to try all I had to do was ask my manager and they would do their best to accomodate
I really enjoyed the social aspect, I went out with people from my department as well as the other interns
My managers were all very open and it was so easy to ask them anything
At times there was nothing to do, but the department understood and I used the time productively to read the news or work on my interview skills
On client sites I was a real part of the audit team as I was given an area of responsibilty
The skills I gained varied from networking to technical skills such as how an audit is done and the accounting behind it.
The Company
It was serious which is how I expected it to be but there was also an atmosphere where everyone in the office were friends and could discuss anything
The process ran smoothly
The 2 day induction was very helpful
Subsidised Canteen
Am awaiting a partner interview date
The Culture
There were regular social events within the department and with other departments
It was as I expected, not too expensive
Birmingham is a great city with lots of bars and restaurants
There were lots of opportunities to take part in sports as well as volunteering
