The Role
I really enjoyed my time at Atos. I felt that I was put into the right team, with the right manager - I recieved lots of friendly support and efforts were made to ensure that I was given adequate responsibility.
Highly valued and well supported by a network of sales professionals. Senior management still made time to talk to me and hear my thoughts.
Plenty of support and guidance, however, no formal structure to the beginning of the programme so was very ad lib.
Not busy at start; however, as I gained more trust from superiors I was assigned to more demanding projects.
I made it clear to my manager and leagues that I was looking for projects that would be of direct benefit to the performance of my team and the business as a whole. Working with my manager and colleagues, we developed creative projects that could drive business for my sector, and I received their support in undertaking these projects.
Very much so, my professional communication skills have improved greatly which will help me with my consultancy project for my final year. I can now confidently work in professional environments with a high degree of responsibility.
The Company
We had an open plan office and canteen, with hotdesking facilities. This gave the office a very relaxed and welcoming feel. The open seating arrangements, adequate creative spaces and bookable meeting rooms were great for group projects . The hotdesking meant that you could be working next to a CxO and not even know it. This arrangement made talking to senior staff a much less daunting prospect.
Poorly organised. There was meant to be an internship pack sent to both line managers and new joiners, but it was never released by HR. This pack was vital as it contained: an introduction to the business; different departments; governance; services/products; contact info for key people; role information; training information. Not receiving this pack meant that line managers and interns were totally under prepared for the placement. My manager had to improvise my training, and decided to put me on a shadowing course for a few weeks before pairing me off with a salesman to work with. Thankfully, this worked out really well for me and was an excellent introduction to the business.
I received formal pitch training, and a general intern induction as well. My manager has gone to great lengths to get me onto company opportunities that he feels are relevant to my learning and understanding of the sector.

Very appealing, I aim to join onto the graduate scheme. However, company benefits are not as great as other competitors.
The Culture
Great social scene, my intake was filled with a bunch of really outgoing and friendly students. However, I do feel that it was totally down to us to find each other and create a social circle. The company did not organise and grad/intern events until 3 months into the placement.
Really expensive, however it's London
Great, loads of local pubs in the local areas, and great clubs usually only a few tube stops away.
Yes. Besides the usual socialising, nights out etc... living in London means there's always places to explore and activities to do. For instance I'm in a 5-a-side league that we attend every week.
