The Role
First year of the three year graduate position! Proper job with all the training and early responsibility!
I spent a lot of time on the away jobs and quite quickly audit team turns into friends where you work and socialise after work together
I always had a plenty of support from my peers and managers!
Sometimes I had to spend a couple of evenings working late, but it evens out with days when you do stock takes or travel to a clients!
On several occasions I was given tasks to perform on my own!
During the placement I also did first 5 exams out of 15 ACA exams!
The Company
In the office, there are always something for you to do, but if I had a spare minute it was very interesting to talk to people from other departments and learn about different services at KPMG
One Year Industrial Placement is structured in exactly the same way as the graduate position, in other words structured very well! I joined had same training as my peers on the full contract.
Not only KPMG did a lot of internal training they also have paid for all my ACA tuition and exams
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Car
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Healthcare from home
KPMG has a very structured career ladder, once you qualify you can move between departments/offices/countries.
The Culture
Everybody in my office were really interesting people!
As spent a lot of time on the away job, where KPMG paid for the dinners and gave some subsistence money!
Plymouth has loads of bars and night clubs! However, sometimes you might be excepted to stay a weekend somewhere else if the client is far away.
I was allowed to have 3.5 hours a month for CSR, but to be fair I was too busy to do it. However, in my office we do a full CSR day every september!
