About You
The insight was really good and enjoyable, there were lots of different talks and activities to participate in to gain a great understanding of tax and audit.
I felt really valued, as there was a relatively small number of us, we all had the opportunity to ask questions and get involved in activities.
We knew there was always somebody there who would help us with any queries we had and we receive feedback after the insight on how well we performed in the assessed aspect of the days.
This insight helped me strongly develop my networking skills and my general confidence skills. We also had a session on our own 'personal branding' which helped me learn a lot about myself and how to present myself.
The Company
It was very well structured on both days, we were given a timetable at the start of each day and both days roughly followed from that.
It was a really friendly and supportive environment, both from the other people attending the event and from the workers at KPMG.
They invested in us by providing us with talks from people currently on their graduate programme and we got a talk from one of the Partner's in their office. They also provided us with a number of useful handouts to take home with us to help develop our skills.
We got to understand more about this through networking with current employees, but as there was no work shadowing involved I did not gain a full insight into what it would be like to have a full time role with KPMG.
I felt that I got a great understanding of the company culture and KPMG's values from the moment I joined the programme.
It has been very influential on me and definitely encouraged me to undertake a career with KPMG.
Everything Else
Costs up to £100 were reimbursed.
There was a panel 'Q&A' session with current graduates at the office and networking drinks with current employees after the second day.
I had occasions to talk during the breaks and after the sessions with both employees and participants.
We found about the different societies KPMG offers its employees to join.
Definitely.
