About You
It was a really insightful day, and I learned a lot about the culture of Taylor Wessing as well as had an opportunity to speak to current trainees for a genuine answer.
Everyone - the HR staff, Recruitment partners, trainees - were very welcoming, enthusiastic and approachable with any questions I had! I was truly surprised at how welcoming the staff would be and felt valued.
The presentations given by the Taylor Wessing team were well led and we had the chance to ask any questions after each one. In the group task, as expected, we were left to our own devices after being given clear instructions.
The Insight Day was useful in providing me with information and a feel for the law firm to aid my vacation scheme application next year.
The Company
The presentations were ordered well and the whole day ran according to the schedule.
The whole Insight Day had a very welcoming atmosphere - however it would've been nice to be placed in a room which had some windows as it was a lovely sunny day!
There wasn't much opportunity for personal development on the Insight Day.
We had the opportunity to talk to current trainees at lunch which was a great opportunity to gauge what it would be like to work at TW.
Meeting the staff and trainees gave me a very friendly impression of the firm, however I'm still unsure of what truly sets TW apart from other commercial law firms.
After attending the Insight Day, I will definitely apply for a vacation scheme next year and am armed with information of how to best make that application.
Everything Else
We were promised to have our travel expenses reimbursed, but I'm yet to receive payment.
We had a chance to talk to the recruitment team and current trainees.
We had a drinks reception at the end of the day, it would have been nice for the trainees or HR staff to join us though.
When talking to the trainees at lunch, I asked about the social events which the firm hosts; they emphasised the comraderie between the trainee cohort.
Definitely!
