About You
I enjoyed the programme as it has offered me valuable opportunities. Although it was only a 2-days programme, I had gained lots of experiences. This was my first time working in a law firm. I thought the law industry was all about reading documents which are quite tedious. However, the tasks I came across was intersting. Therefore, I really enjoy my time here.
I worked with the Projects team of the firm. Every member of the team was so nice. I was given quite a lot of tasks which the members of the team have been working on for days. They were very keen to teach me how to work on those tasks as well.
I have talked to staffs from different positions, including trainees, associates and partners. They were all very helpful. Whenever I have a problem, no matter it was about the content of the work or it was just some basic technical issues, they tried their best to help me. My personal trainee supervisor knows that I do not have a law background. So he tried to guide me through when I was reading legal documents.
I am doing a science degree at my university. Therefore the content of the work was not relevant to my degree. However, I definitely improved my writing and reading skills as I have done quite a lot of reading work throughout the programme. These skills can definitely help when I am writing an essay.
The Company
We had a number of talks and workshops at the beginning of the scheme. The information we received from these sessions were essential.
Everything Else
We were allocated to different departments. For me, I was in the Projects team. I was introduced to every member of the team and I have talked to most of them. On the second day, we had a networking lunch. I had lunch with an associate who works in another department. This was a great opportunity for me to learn more about the firm as well as what people do in different departments.
I appreciate how this company encourage employees to have a work-life balance. Most of the employees here enjoy participating in different leisure classes or sports teams of the firm. For example, the yoga class and the football team.
Absolutely.
