About You
It was a really fun day. I would say that I highly enjoyed this insight event.
I felt very valued primarily because we were told about the very low success rate of the programme early in the day. So, I knew I was lucky to be there.
Lots - Lani and other members were constantly there to guide us through the different section of the day. The groups were also moderate sizes so it was easy to get attention if required.
I think the information we were given will massively help in the future. Mostly because it gave us a broad outline of investment banking but also about Nomura's process so if were to apply we know exactly what they are looking for.
The Company
Very well structured. We were taught things earlier in the day and then put them into practice later. For example, we had a networking seminar followed by a networking lunch
Enthusiastic - most people were keen to make the most of their time at Nomura and question and answer session, particularly, never ended early.
I think a little. Considering it was an insight event we didn't expect them to invest too much in us. But the seminars were definitely helping personal training and development.
It was very useful. Specifically, talking to current employees and them talking through their daily routines made it very clear what working at Nomura would be like.
I think a decent amount. It was clear that Nomura was a smaller bank and so wanted to take advantage of that and be more personal. However, it is had to tell day to day practice
Very. It gave a clear outline of what investment banking involves and so made the decision much easier.
Everything Else
I have filed my reimbursement form. I assume I will be reimbursed soon.
Yes, we first had a speed dating session in our table groups with different parts of the firm. Later, we had a networking lunch. However, I feel there could have been scope for a little more networking.
As mentioned above, there were opportunities. However, the ratio of students to employees was quite unbalanced.
This wasn't mentioned as much. A football league of some sort seemed to exist but there wasn't much focus on this.
Definitely, its a very good day and an excellent opportunity to take advantage of.
