About You
Discover EY provided me with a great insight into tax and assurance and what a career at EY can offer. The various workshops and activities that I was involved in provided me with an opportunity to learn about EY and myself, specifically about my strengths and skills on which I can improve on in the future.
Each and every individual was involved in all the activities that were carried out during the insight programme. Employees from EY were also able to provide one-to-one feedback on the performance of each individual during their final presentation.
EY provided everyone with contact details of various individuals who could be contacted for any issues or queries that one might have. Support was also available for individuals who were staying in accommodation provided by EY; showing that care and support of EY's employees.
The feedback from the EY team allowed me to improve on skills that I have the potential to develop. Furthermore, the activities that were focused on skills provided me with an insight into my strengths and the service line that would be best suited to my skill set. I shall continue to improve and develop the skills that were highlighted during the programme and have used my strengths to aid my preparation and revision for upcoming examinations and assessment centres.
The Company
The insight programme was structured very well. I was informed of the structure a few weeks in advance of the programme, which allowed me to spend time on researching areas that I was interested in or wanted to find more information on. At the beginning of the programme, we were reminded of how the two days were split in terms of workshops and talks given by various individuals from EY. The plan was expanded on and we were fully informed of the opportunities that would be arising for each and everyone of us during the programme.
The atmosphere could be described as very friendly, inclusive and reflective of the environment that EY provides for its employees. A number of individuals including a partner of the firm stated that people make EY. The support provided by EY was a reflection of how EY can support any individual in their career at EY. We are the 'digital generation' and innovation is becoming an increasingly important factor of success in the corporate world. EY provides support for individuals who are creative and innovative.
The second day of the programme was focused on skill development and information on next steps and how we would be able to succeed in obtaining a career at EY.
An insight programme is one of the best forms of learning about a firm as you are able to experience the working environment and receive insights from members of the firm directly. These are extremely valuable opportunities that would not arise unless you attended an alternative event organised by EY.
By networking with individuals from a spectrum of roles, I was able to gain an insight into the culture from a number of different perspectives. Despite engaging in talks with different people, each response was similar to the other responses I received. This highlights that EY is focused on its value and culture; providing a challenging yet stimulating environment for people to work in.
It was an invaluable experience in which I was able to learn a lot about EY and my future.
Everything Else
I was able to network with individuals during a networking lunch and dinner. I was also given contact details of some of the individuals I met during the programme in case I had any further questions.
