    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed the insight programme as I felt it genuinely explored a lot of different areas within EY and everyone I spoke to was very enthusiastic and this made it even more enjoyable. It was packed full of valuable information and I learnt a too, meaning it felt very beneficial and thus even more enjoyable.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt incredibly valued while at EY. There was great correspondence before the programme on making sure I was clear on everything that was happening which translated to a very well organised programme that emphasised the important of us learning what we wanted to. I particularly liked the question boards and parking lots so anything we wanted to know was ensured to be covered, meaning that I felt incredibly valued and my ideas and questions respected.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • There was quite a lot of guidance and support throughout the programme as it was an introductory insight. It was nice that very little prior knowledge was assumed and that anyone and everyone could access everything we were doing, as well as many opportunities to ask questions and reach out for help if we needed it.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I feel as if the skills I learnt will remain with me as it was an amazing programme in the way that it linked skills and interests you already had, but perhaps weren't aware of, to the real life working world and culture at EY. The information about routes and life within the company was also invaluable as there is no better way to learn than getting to speak with a range of people from the firm.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • It flowed incredibly well, seeming very organised and well planned. There was no issues and we managed to cover a lot only over two days! I really appreciated the range of activities over the two days also, as it meant that you were constantly thinking, learning, talking to others or challenging yourself to learn as much as you possibly could.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Everyone on the programme seemed equally as enthusiastic and motivated as myself to work at and learn about EY so the atmosphere was incredibly motivating and positive. It was great to work within a great bunch of students lead by equally as enthusiastic organisers, speakers and graduates and it really did promote EY in the most positive light.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The opportunities after the programme seem to be plentiful, however on the programme the company did not assess you in any way. It was very nice to be able to enjoy it without feeling pressured, but at the same time learn a lot that will help you in an assessed environment in the future. The knowledge gained and the questions I was able to ask will hopefully prove beneficial at later stages of the process.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The programme included speakers from all areas of the firm who gave a great run down into their jobs and roles and were also open to any question asked. I particularly liked how they were very honest and enthusiastic when answering any questions, and how question sessions often lasted longer than their talking section to allow people on the programme to ask everything they wanted to.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Being in the actual office and speaking to a wide variety of people who all said the same things about EY has assured me that the company culture that is promoted is very real, as everyone agrees and says the same things. A large part of the programme was networking and this allowed for many questions into the culture to be asked and understood which I really enjoyed.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • I went into the programme not sure of my career path however now I think I have decided what I am most passionate about, thanks to the programme. The sessions on both tax and assurance were great and very balanced, and again, the opportunity to speak with so many people from both sides and ask the questions that I had has firmed this decision for me.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • It was only a two day programme so I was not expecting to be paid, however I am going to be reimbursed travel expenses. All food was provided on the programme and EY also paid for a hotel for me to stay over night to reduce travel expenses and make the programme more enjoyable which I really appreciated too. A large number of people on the programme stayed in the hotel, some for two/three nights which EY paid for.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes, the programme was centred around this.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The dinner was a great event to socialise with students and staff alike.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes, this was part of the presentation on the first day and you could ask questions about it to any employee or graduate in the many networking opportunities that we had.

    5/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Definitely. I feel like I have learnt an awful lot!
