About You
It was extremely interesting and enjoyable at all times; it's impossible to fault it!
At all times I felt valued. The numerous EY representatives who I spoke with were all welcoming and seemed genuinely interested in me personally, as well as being very open about themselves and their own career path.
In terms of guidance, there was plenty. As I've said above, each EY employee was extremely open and honest about their own career path and were keen to give any advice that they had.
In terms of my degree studies, the skills developed will be beneficial. As I study History, presenting in front of a large group of people is something that I regularly do in Seminars, so to to stand up on stage during Day 2 as part of the Case Study helped me to develop my presenting skills further. Also, with regards to the future, beyond my studies, the information I received is also greatly beneficial as I feel it may help me to pursue a career with EY successfully.
The Company
Perfectly well structured, with Day 1 being more informative, and Day 2 being more interactive.
The general atmosphere was extremely positive and upbeat. All of those on the programme were friendly, talkative and keen to get involved in group work, while the EY employees were all highly approachable, friendly and supportive throughout the Case Study task.
The firm appeared to invest a lot of time in terms of being sure that I 'developed' over the 2 days, especially through the use of the Case Study task.
Of course, it is hard to fully understand the firm and the role that you may take-up with EY in just 2 days, although with the large amount of employees who were there that were willing to talk and share their own experiences, I feel that I do certainly have a rough idea of what it is like to work for the firm.
The culture at EY is something that they are undeniably very keen on promoting. 'People' is everyone's answer when I asked what made EY different to its competitors. It's extremely apparent that everyone at the company is very friendly and sociable, and the people are of course vital to that being the case.
I believe that the content was extremely valuable as I am now almost certain that I want to pursue a career with EY.
Everything Else
Travel expenses up to £100 were covered, and I was also provided with accommodation for the night.
Yes, endless. Each of the different activities involved employees who we were able to speak and network with during and after their activity.
They all felt very comfortable, natural and relaxed. At dinner on the first night when a Senior Manager sat on my table throughout the duration of the meal is one the most memorable times for networking for me over the 2 days as it felt very natural. With other firms, networking can be somewhat daunting, although this was never the case with EY.
Yes, many employees spoke about what they do socially with fellow employees, as well as the charity work that the majority of them take part in.
100%, it was extremely beneficial, enjoyable, and informative. I just wish it was longer than 2 days!
