About You
I thoroughly enjoyed the insight- it was a lot different to what I expected. I have always heard such terrifying things about Spring Weeks, however Rothschild's spring week was completely different. The general relaxed atmosphere made the week a lot more enjoyable as we all felt comfortable to ask as many questions we had. We even had the opportunity to do a creative volunteering opportunity, which I personally loved and it showed me how important giving back is to Rothschild.
I felt extremely valued at all times during the Spring week. We were encouraged by HR and by employees to ask about anything! We even had the opportunity to work shadow- this was a highlight of the week as we got to actually see what an analyst would do on a day-to-day basis. That was very effective rather than learning it on a screen! Beyond that, employees were willing to spend their free time meeting up with us, which was highly appreciated amongst us interns as we know how busy they are! On top of all of that, HR were extremely friendly and open; any concerns or queries we had were happily answered.
We received as much guidance as we wanted or needed. HR and employees at Rothschild were extremely helpful in answering emails or questions or even meeting up for lunch. Some analysts even chose to spend extra time after networking events to carry on talking to us. As well as this, we were given crash courses. Each course was very thorough and truly helped bridge my understanding of what the functions within Rothschild actually do. Each course had a Q&A panel at the end and every answer was answered extremely well! It must also be noted, that not only did we receive thorough guidance from employees, but also from each other. Despite there being differences in technical knowledge amongst us interns, every intern was still happy to help each other, there was no sense of competition between us! For me personally, this was another highlight of the spring week as it made my experience and learning potential a lot more dynamic.
I developed a lot more technical understanding, which is tremendously key for anybody. Having a better technical understanding will help me pick my career path. As well as this, the spring week showed me what kind of firm and company ethics I want to working for. I was thoroughly impressed by Rothschild!
The Company
Very well- each day was packed with activities. We were given a timetable from the start so the week was very transparent and organised.
The general atmosphere was very chilled but informative and enjoyable. There were many informative presentations, as well as many networking events, which allowed us to get to know each other outside of the bank. For example, the first day we had a networking event for just us interns in a local bar. This was great as within the first day I got the chance to speak to everyone!
The firm highly invested in our training and developed- given crash courses which got us up to speed for our group presentation and also opened up lots of intriguing questions.
Work shadowing allowed us to see what it would like to have a full time role, especially within the sectors that we were assigned. Extremely valuable.
The insight helped a lot; I got to see on many occasions what Rothschild's work culture is like.
Very valuable- reaffirmed my aspiration for working for Rothschild! I also now have a better understanding of what sector/function I would like to specialise in.
Everything Else
reimbursement form given from the start for lunch and travel expenses!
We had multiple social event opportunities, and the very first was on the first day!
Very fun and well organised.
Yes- we had a volunteering activity, which Rothschild highly encourages to their employees.
100%- thoroughly enjoyed the insight; packed full of activities, lots of social events, great studying opportunties- generally well balanced week
