About You
I attended Discover EY - Assurance and Tax in London in 2017. The insight was really enjoyable and involved a mix of talks, workshops, panel discussions and networking.
EY looked after everyone well during the programme which made me feel valued during the event. We were given opportunities to contribute to discussions and share our opinions.
Professionals from first year to Partner level led many of the activities and supported us on the main project that we worked on within groups.
Beyond learning about EY and their service lines, I was able to develop my presentation style, communication and networking skills in a safe, non-assessed environment, which will aid my career development.
The Company
The programme was well structured and kept to a quite strict timetable, which allowed a lot of activities to be packed into the two days.
Everyone on the insight was very friendly and supportive, and I felt that both the other students and EY professionals contributed to creating an open and comfortable environment.
Given the length of the programme, EY did a great job of providing opportunities to support our personal development. I thought that working with the EY professionals on the group task was most beneficial to my development.
Professionals at the firm were happy to talk openly about their experiences at EY, which included both positives and some negatives. Being able to have these honest discussions helped me to gain a good insight into a full time role.
Speaking with staff and learning about the culture through presentations enabled me to learn about the culture at EY.
The event was definitely valuable - as a result I came away with new career ideas and had changed my mind on what I wanted to do.
Everything Else
Expenses (including basic accommodation) were provided.
Yes - there were several networking opportunities including a lunch, informal breaks and dinner with EY staff.
Well organised and a good mix of staff from different levels and both divisions.
Yes - we found out all about internal networks, sports and how individual teams went out for team building trips, drinks etc outside of work.
Yes - I would definitely recommend Discover EY to a friend.
