The Role
I enjoyed my work placement very much due to the challenging nature of my role where I can learn how to solve issues under pressure and in different situations.
I have a great team where my opinions and feedback are valued. The colleagues in my team also do not treat me as an intern only. I also receive great level of trust from the colleagues in getting my job done.
I received great support and guidance from my line manager in my day-to-day job and also training and development opportunities provided by HR in the company.
Due to the nature of my job, I have a fixed routine every day therefore I will always be kept busy and productive.
I was given a fair balance of responsibilities and opportunities to improve myself in terms of personal and career development.
The transferrable and soft skills gained from the placement role have developed me into a more competent and disciplined person. The application of theoretical knowledge into practical experience has helped me in my learning process at university.
The Company
Fun, exciting and challenging environment to work in!
In my opinion, the placement scheme is very organised and well managed as each intern is assigned to a line manager and HR manager to ensure the interns are in a good place to perform.
There is a lot of training and development courses for Interns. Apart from that, there are also e-learning courses provided for interns to learn more about the company culture and industry,
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
International Travel
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
The future employment prospects in L'Oreal are very exciting and appealing as the graduate scheme is well-organised to help graduates develop networking and also transferrable skills.
The Culture
Yes, the work life balance is very good with the principle of "work hard, play hard".
The cost of living and socialising is relatively higher in London.
It was okay - there are a few bars and pubs in the area I worked in.
Yes. There were many volunteering opportunities and social events for interns which provided interns with networking opportunities outside of work!
