The Role
I enjoyed it a lot because the content was more interesting than expected. I've been given a lot of responsibilities, it was quite challenging in terms of time management, I really liked what I was doing. Also my team was very supportive and taught me a lot, that really matters to me.
I definitely felt valued by my colleagues. As soon as the first day, they told me they wanted to give me more responsibilities than for some previous interns because they thought it would fit my skills; which, of course, made me feel valued. My team is also really good at regularly thanking me, telling me they're really happy of my work and wishing I could stay as a permanent worker.
I was happily surprised by how present my supervisors are. Even though they're not always available, I know I can always ask them questions, they'll always help me and explain things to me.
I didn't have a linear workload nor rhythm so during a few weeks I worked much harder than the others, but in average, the work load was fine: dynamic, challenging in terms of time management, but never discouraging.
I was given more responsibility than expected. I was happily surprised when my team announced me they wanted to give me quite a lot of responsibilities because they thought I could assume them. I think if I was staying longer, I would have liked to have more responsibilities, but the way it was was perfect.
I am done with my degree studies but what I learnt will definitely be useful in my further career. I learnt to always think in terms of P&L impact, to always consider the actual reality of the business, to be able to handle my priorities
The Company
The atmosphere was really nice. I enjoyed the way people work together, talk to each other instead of automatically sending messages. People also have good times and really get on well, which is nice.
The work placement was very well organized. Everything was clearly explained and defined before the beginning of the internship. Everything was ready on my first day and I could start working as soon as I arrived. I particularly am happy that I could benefit from 3 reviews with my team: one in the beginning of the placement, one in the middle, on in the end.
L'Oreal invested a lot in me: trainings, software rights so I can have large responsibilities in my job, time spent by my colleagues to explain a lot so that I can understand and work better afterwards.
Flexi Time
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
I am definitely hoping I can keep working for this company. Fingers crossed!
The Culture
There was a good social scene among the placement students/colleagues. First there was an intern group/association organizing events, sending out newsletters. Also we had some lunches together. Finally having our handover done by the previous intern really enables us to get closer to him or her.
It was good, people were very outgoing so it was quite easy if you put some good will.
I haven't really experienced it and I'm not sure there's a lot except pubs but I haven't been looking for it so I'm not the best to answer this one.
There definitely were opportunities outside of work: afterwork, sport activities, events...
