The Role
Not much could be better, the people based with me in Wales were very welcoming and friendly, they truly took me under their wing and guided me on my part of the job. I've managed to get down to the Hammersmith Office on a number of occasions for internal training, shadowing, presentations etc.
10/10 I felt extremely valued as i would receive feedback often saying how well i was doing, my manager said I was a crucial part of the team and without whom the team would be lost.
It's a very much on the job learning kind of experience, but for the first 3 weeks i was guided into how i would working & what my responsibilities and roles would be. Of which continued to develop over the year.
The nature of the job meant that there was always something to do, at times this was too much, as we had a period of colleagues on sickness which impacted the remaining team dramatically since it was quite a small team. Other than this period of work was been manageable but challenging none the less.
I quite often took on ad-hoc projects and was given and extended a range of vendors that i would be looking g after for the year. I dealt with them over email, telephone etc etc, without or with little support, only when i needed it would i ask. Thus you are entrusted with quite a lot as an intern.
I've learnt how to prioritise, organise my workload , manage my time effectively, developed my presentation skills, my verbal communication has improved, and I also believe i'm so much more professional & courteous due to the Ethics & Value of the business which has influenced me over the year.
The Company
Quiet, the office is quite small so the number of people isn't a great deal. But those people know how to have a great conversation. So it's ideal i'f you're a bit of a quiet person i would say.
To start with it was a bit slow, trying to get liscenses to access the main system which i would be working on took a while. But once received, it was non-stop from there.
MyLearning provided a vast amount of material which was there for the taking, so i was sure to get stuck into this as much as possible. In terms of internal training there were only a few sessions that i attended which were great. It;s very much down to you to make the most of the resources available to you.

Very appealing, my manager was recommended me for the L'Oreal MT scheme so we will see where i can go from here.
The Culture
I was based in Wales where there was only 2 other interns (one summer, one year), so the social aspect was a bit lacking. Lucky i had great housemates who were a bunch of fun. So it's definitely important to make friends outside of work if you are in the Wales Office
I lived in Cathays which was a very very studenty area, so i can imagine it being very easily to socialise if you wanted to.
I'm not much of a going out type of person, but the times i have gone out it's been good, just depends
Not really, it was very much down to you to create your own fun. So I did quite a few Charity events to keep myself occupied.
