The Role
I found my placement very enjoyable. My colleagues were very welcoming and were always keen to involve me in projects they were working on, as well as invite me to spend time with them on activities outside of work-life. I felt as my time progressed, my level of responsibility rose, however my work colleagues were always on hand to assist me should I need it.
As my time progressed and my knowledge grew, I felt that I became more valued by my colleagues.
Assistance was always provided to me whenever I required it. All I had to do was ask!
At the start of the placement I did not feel that busy, and stuck more to a role of shadowing my fellow employees. However towards the end of my placement I was juggling multiple different projects, and thus found myself constantly occupied.
Initially I was not given a great amount of responsibility, but towards the middle of my placement and through to its demise, my level of responsibility grew rapidly.
My training on topics such as health and safety will ensure that I am safe at work wherever I may be, and my training on lean manufacturing will greatly assist my studies while back at university.
The Company
The atmosphere in my office was very light hearted at times, but when necessary, I was expected to get my head into my work and be efficient with how I spent my time. This kind of working environment suited me perfectly.
The start of my placement seemed to lack structure and at times I did not feel particularly occupied. I felt that my placement only became more organise through my willingness to make myself heard and throw myself at opportunities which would keep me busy.
The first few weeks of my placement revolved purely around training and development, so I would say that company invested in my highly.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Financial Bonus
Above 25 days holiday
Were I to be offered a continuation at the company after university, I would strongly consider accepting the opportunity.
The Culture
Yes! We ate lunch as a group every day and regularly went on nights out together in neighbouring towns and cities.
Around average. Neighbouring towns of Rugby and Northampton are not too expensive and so make living and socialising relatively cheap.
Daventry itself does not have a huge nightlife, but many neighbouring towns and cities such as Coventry, Rugby and Northampton offer better alternative.
Yes! I am aware of both go-karting and football societies open to all employees, as well as a annual rugby match.
