The Role
Extremely enjoyed the internship, the work was challenging and interesting. Also I had great exposure to senior management and the job was never repetitive.
Felt included from the start, my team had similar interests and personalities. I was given good responsibility which made me in turn feel valued
Everyone is willing to help you learn, not just your team and close colleagues, Very friendly culture.
usually very busy, which I liked. Not a fan of just sitting there doing nothing (as fun as that sounds)
Enough, and increasing amounts as the internship progressed, very steep learning curve. Given monthly and quarterly projects to lead.
Degree - good work ethic will carry over Beyond - the amount ive learnt about banking is way beyond my expectations, Will definitely give a running start when I start a grad job.
The Company
Everyone works hard, but there are always jokes, so a good mix of atmosphere. I got lucky with the team, some areas are pin drop silence.
Very well organized, no issues
attended lots of courses on areas outside of my business line. Loads of presentations from team heads about what they do. UBS does give you all the tools necessary to learn.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
a few of the interns get offered the grad job, fingers crossed. even if no offer directly from the internship, it puts you in a strong position to apply elsewhere in the bank.
The Culture
yes
Lived at home as live in London - from what other interns paid, expect from 700-1k a month. Socialising - its London so... £5 pint is good (you get used to it).
close to shoreditch, can pretty much go wherever you want.
yeah, loads of charity and volunteering opportunities. Also some sports events and clubs
