The Role
Thoroughly, although tough at the beginning it has been a rewarding experience where I have seen my hard work pay off
I felt like a normal member of staff and fitted in extremely well.
Always there to help if I ever needed anything.
Extremely busy but this made the role challenging and kept it interesting.
I was in full control of my desk and therefore had full responsibility. Everything was solely my responsibility.
I feel my confidence has improved huge amounts. This will help aid my public speaking next year when doing presentations. As I also plan to use Hays in my dissertation this will give me a good real life example to work with which I wouldn't have if it wasn't for this placement.
The Company
Good. Our team was always happy and there was always a good work culture which made working life more fun.
It was a bit slow to begin with due to the person I was taking over being away, however once they were back it was well organised and well structured due to 3, 6 and 9 month reviews so I knew exactly what I was meant to be achieving along the way.
I was treated as any other member of staff so feel that I got the same treatment as anybody else.
Fairly appealing, the only thing that would put me off is the starting salary being too low.
The Culture
Yes, it was good having another intern in the office. However if there were more of us I believe there would have been a better social scene.
Living was expensive as to what I was used to however socialising was as expected.
Really good - there are lots of local clubs and bars very close to work so always something to do.
A few of the guys in the office had five a side football teams which were available to play for and we occasionally arranged pool/darts nights.
