The Role
It was very enjoyable and taught me a lot about Audit and the way businesses work. I got an inside view of what the exact steps were in the audit from talking to clients and working with the team.
I played a very important role within each team and felt like I did make a real difference
I was given a lot of help with explanation of what we are doing and why we are doing it
I was relatively busy sometimes working till 7pm
I was given a lot of responsibility and at a very start I had the opportunity to speak with clients and the Chief Financial Officers in the companies I visited
The skills I developed are vital, the experience taught me a lot about what skills I will need in the future and also allowed me to demonstrate new skills during the Internship
The Company
The office was relatively quiet as everyone is very busy working but there are times where people take breaks and invites everyone out for lunch
I thought it was organised very well and I had different clients every week
They took us away on a 2 day Induction to De Vere Resort where we had a lot of "assessment centre" structured case studies, presentations etc. I found that very interesting and useful
Subsidised Canteen
I was very lucky to be offered a Graduate placement with them which I have taken up
The Culture
Colleagues are very friendly and always willing to help and I had a presentation to prepare for the Partner Interview and I got a lot of help from talking to different people
Cost of living is not as expensive as in London, since I am in St Albans, I live at home. Socialising is also affordable
The nightlife is not as vibrant as that in London
I attended to Corporate Social Responsibility days, one with the people in my office and one with all the Interns, the first one was gardening in a primary school and the latter was painting in a park
