The Role
I have thoroughly enjoyed my internship with Hays. It is an excellent first insight into the world of work from feeling part of the team to learning life time skills.
I felt highly valued by my colleagues here at Hays. From day one you are treated the same as all other consultants and are given as much responsibility as suits.
Hays have been supportive throughout the entire year. Recruitment is a fast paced and dynamic industry and things don't always go to plan but you will always have the help of a supportive team and manager to seek help/advice. In my time at Hays I was given the opportunity to move into another role and explore a different area of the business.
There is never a day you are twiddling your thumbs at Hays with it being such a fun and fast paced environment. It is a great insight into the world of work being a part of a buzzing office and making a difference day by day.
Being an intern at Hays gives you an opportunity like no other. You are given as much responsibility as you feel comfortable with. There is always room for you to progress and take on more as you feel like it.
The skills and training that I received have been second to none. Throughout your internship you are guided along the way with constant on the job training to be the best you can be within a year. I have developed my personal self and also gained numerous skills along the way which I can take with me back to university.
The Company
Being in recruitment, Hays has a real buzz around the place. Hays flagship office Cheapside is an exciting place to be starting off your career.
The internship organised by Hays is very well constructed with constant learning, full responsibility, social events and charity events.
Despite only being within the company for a year, Hays do not hesitate when it comes to training and development and they feel passionately about each and every student reaching their full potential.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Hays is a very attractive company to work for in the future providing all sorts of opportunities including exploring other business areas or travelling abroad. The training programme never ends with refreshers courses etc which is important to ensure your career does not stagnate.
The Culture
The interns currently working at Hays get along well and have developed life time friendships. Networking events and team bonding sessions are set up throughout the year to keep that close knit feel.
Being based in the City, the cost of living was slightly higher but socialising was all I could ask for being a working student. It is a thriving area and there are endless places to explore!
The City is a great location if you enjoy a night out. It is filled with bars, pubs and even clubs. All too many to explore!
Hays definitely has more to offer aside from your day to day work. An example of an activity I got involved in outside of work was a Charity fundraiser event on a Saturday and we completed Tough Mudder as a corporate team for Together for Short Lives.
