The Role
I think the placement was very good as it gave me the opportunity to learn from colleagues across Europe. Furthermore, I also got to travel abroad to Greece and Germany to meet different partners and clients.
I felt valued by my immediate team as I was given quite a lot of responsibility compared to other interns. However, with colleagues who weren't in my immediate team, I sometimes felt that they didn't value me as much and wouldn't respond to my email requests. In general, however, the team was very friendly.
I was given very good guidance by my manager, however, the frequency here could have been improved. Furthermore, members of my team also provided support and therefore if I ever needed help with anything I knew I could rely on them.
This varied. Towards the beginning and up to the 6 month period I was very busy and always had enough work to fill my days. As I was in a sales team this meant that typically the start of each quarter would be quieter however, I would still have work to complete and could also engage in volunteering and shadowing.
I was given a good level of responsibility, however, not an overwhelming amount. The organizational structure is very hierarchical and therefore there is a limit as to the responsibility you are given. My role was very good in terms of having very good interaction with the partners, however, I would have liked to engage in more meetings and activities with them.
The skills and training I received were very good and they will definitely help me in future corporate positions. I would have however liked to receive more training regarding the technology and product/service offerings.
The Company
The office environment was fun and everyone got on very well. My team were extremely helpful and were full of energy each day which uplifted the atmosphere.
It was very well structured as we had a 2 week induction which was then followed by being eased into the role. We were also given 2 managers which added greatly to the support we received.
In terms of extra curricular activities very well as there were many volunteering and learning opportunities. However the training could have been optimized by learning more about the IBM technology.

Working from home
The future employment does not look very promising as a graduate within the company however one can return once they have finished their graduate scheme.
The Culture
The social scene was very good as the location was amazing. Everyone was very willing to go out after work and we also had many team socials too which were very fun.
The cost of living and going out was very high as it is London.
The nightlife is very good in London in general and also affordable with the salary we earn.
The opportunities here were very good. We were able to participate in many volunteering activities, sports clubs and also volunteering within the company itself. There were always lots of opportunities available.
