The Role
I enjoyed my placement at IBM, the opportunity to work in a corporate environment was invaluable and rewarded me with a lot of unique opportunities.
felt extremely valued by my colleagues. At no point did I feel like an intern, form day one everyone within the organisation treated me as a professional. They were supportive and acknowledged that I would find some of the processes challenging, and made themselves available to help when required.
support from management was provided from day one. The amount of face to face interaction with my Task Manager could have been better, however the flexibility of the business meant that there were various other mehtods deployed to maintain good communication throughout.
The workload fluctuated between quarters, which gave scope for me to venture out and discover different aspects of the business.
I was given a lot of responsibility during my placement. I got the impression that what I was doing made a real impact on the business and as a result acted accordingly
It provided me with invaluable skills that I have been able to develop into studies. I now have a vast understanding of various Analytical components and can deploy these when I return to university.
