The Role
Really great internship overall
Everyone was very welcoming and I got to work with pretty much the whole department in one way or another. Felt like a valued member of the team and received good feedback on any project work.
The buddy/mentor scheme was very good and I got a lot of support from mine.
This varied in line with business requirements but on the whole it was a good balance of always having something to do but never feeling too overworked.
Eased into it but was then given a huge amount of responsibility and became very independent
Nothing directly applicable to a maths degree but soft skills and time management etc will always be useful for future careers.
The Company
Very friendly people and lots of good social opportunities - the terrace bar on Thursdays was always packed.
Great induction programme and lots of events at the start.
Quite a lot at the beginning in terms of inductions, training sessions etc. then it was up to you to decide

The Culture
130 of us started together in summer and became good friends with lots of them. Plenty of grads and other interns to socialise with throughout all the different departments.
As to be expected in London
Central London so always something going on
A fair amount of volunteering and events organised by Nomura, most events were just organised by us interns
