The Role
Friendly environment, from which you are given much support and given proper work rather than just fetching photocopies and making coffees.
Colleagues trusted the work I completed and there were no useless tasks I was asked to complete simply just for filling the time.
Help was at hand provided I asked. A friendly attitude was given at all times.
I was given a lot of work to complete to ensure I was never bored, however, I always finished it by the end of the day and rarely had to work even a little overtime.
The nature of the internship meant that I could not have been given too much responsibility, as I was working on projects which were led by high ranked employees.
Many transferable skills were learnt in my placement and although may not be useful for my degree, however I believe they will prove vital to my career.
The Company
A normal busy office environment. Wouldn't call it fun, but it certainly wasn't dull.
I did not experience any problems at my internship. Small IT glitches were soon fixed by the IT department who treated you like staff.
Training was provided by employees in the form of day to day office tasks, however no formal training was provided.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
KPMG employ many graduates and even offer a leavers programme which employs A-Level students before they even go to university.
The Culture
A good mix of work and social chat in the office.
The office in Canary Wharf is in an expensive district, so lunch was always in the canteen, althought the food is quite nice.
You wouldn't find any nightlife in Canary Wharf, however, central London being a few minutes away, you'll get all the nightlife you want.
I wasn't given any opportunities, however, I believe there to be some up on offer,
