The Role
Very enjoyable, in the role in which I was assigned in IBM, you face new challenges everyday.
I felt very valued by my team mates and immediate network.
Our early professional managers are fantastic, they always push us to take up new opportunities and further our skill set.
Extremely busy, however this made the days far more productive and allowed me to learn so much.
A tremendous amount of responsibility, whether that be with your communications with the client or handling complex technical issues on their behalf.
The skills which I have learned over the last 12 months will stick with me, the opportunity really allowed me to develop as an individual. I feel the skill set I have acquired puts me at a clear advantage in my future career.
The Company
Very pleasant, we operate on a hot desk system which really promotes collaboration and open communication.
The structure of the placement year is very well thought-out, this is not a new initiative for IBM. They have been running these schemes for year and it really tells due to the organisation of the year.
Heavily, the majority of the software and tool we are given access to have a real business cost. Therefore they looked on us, to provide value out of their investment. This is something that only pushed me further to deliver on the objectives I was set.
Financial Bonus
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
Whilst nothing is for certain, IBM is definitely a potential future employer for myself.
The Culture
This was an aspect which I was over whelmed with, the management really encourage us to build friendships among our fellow interns and all other employees were always very easy to speak with.
Around 550 per calendar month on bills, as we are located near Heathrow in London. Nightlife is expensive.
The area where I was based is mostly industrial facilitates therefore there is no demand for nightlife, however central London is only a short train away.
Yes.
