The Role
Highly enjoyed it. It was a real eye opener to see the corporate world up close at a global firm and I was constantly learning and being challenged.
Very valued - I received regular feedback (good and bad) which enabled me to learn.
My team was HQ'd in Zurich so London was more of a satellite office and so supervision was to some extent limited.
My work load was highly dependent on our fund administrator. So one week I could have very little going on (to the extent that I was sometimes a little bored) and another week I would have a hundred things to do so it would suddenly become very busy.
The reports that I wrote on a (nearly) daily basis were sent directly to clients and I also participated in the due diligence of potential funds we were scoping, so enormous responsibility.
Greatly. I was able to complete the Investment Management Certificate during my time at UBS which furthered my learning and will aid my degree studies.
The Company
Very friendly. I was very lucky to be in a young team and so we had plenty in common and it was very relaxed.
I sense it was better organized than it has been in previous years. The HR team were quite difficult to communicate with and took weeks to respond to emails.
They paid for me to do the Investment Management Certificate.

International Travel
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday

UBS Asset Management has recently introduced a grad programme which is new, so reasonably good now compared to previous years.
The Culture
Yes very good - regular intern organized events on Thursdays.
London isn't cheap by any means. Accommodation is expensive and going out is too.
London - so there's plenty going on.
Not particularly no.
