The Role
I really enjoyed my placement at Hays. I have learnt a lot about the industry and how to work in a corporate environment. I enjoyed that I was given real responsibility throughout my placement year at Hays.
I felt extremely valued by my colleagues. I was given work that added value to the team which made me feel really valued as my efforts made a difference.
I was given lots of support and guidance throughout my internship. when I started I was given structured training which helped with my understanding of the role. throughout my internship if I ever felt like I needed extra support or more training my manager always made time to help my learning and development.
I was busy on a daily basis. I enjoyed being busy as it meant that as I never felt bored and meant that I was responsible for my own workload. Being busy taught me a lot about being productive with my time within a busy fasted paced environment.
I was given a lot of responsibility through out my internship. As my internship progressed my manager gave me more responsibility which was great as I was always developing my skills sets.
My placement will assist me for my final year of study and beyond. I have learnt so much about managing my work load and working efficiently when limited amount of time is available. Working in a corporate environment has taught me a lot about working and networking with senior directors. This will assist me in the future with my future career.
The Company
The general atmosphere in the office is very hardworking. Everyone wants to achieve results however our successful is celebrated.
My work placement was very organised. I had structured training to start with and regular catch up's with my manager so that I was always aware of what I was meant to be doing and what I could be doing to be more successful at my role.
The company invested a lot into my training and development. the training didn't stop once I was up and running at my desk even now that I am finishing my placement the company are still investing in me and giving me more training to further develop my skills.

The future employment prospects at Hays are very appealing. There is a very structured careers ladder when coming back so it is clear what targets you need to achieve in order to get promoted.
The Culture
There where lots of other placement students at Hays which meant that there was a really good community. You work really closely with your team so therefore you become very close with them, there would be team events organised as well which where good fun as well.
I wanted to move and relocate to London for my internship so therefore the cost of rent was a lot higher to previous accommodation that I have rented whilst being a student. Socialising could be quite expensive as well because of London prices. However I never found that I was missing out due to money I just had to budget carefully.
The Nightlife is great where I work. The city offer's so much from bars to restaurants and so much more. Working in the city as well means that nightlife is always busy so there is a real buzz with the opportunity to meets lots of new people.
There where lots of opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work. These ranged from team building exercises to charity fundraisers. there where lots of cake sales and the office even got involved in tough mudder. Some of the team activities included cocktail making classes, dinner and meals out and escape rooms.
