The Role
The Company
Extremely friendly and lively, everyone is very helpful!
The role was created only a year previously thus sometimes lacked a bit of organisation.
GSK puts a lot of effort into developing your skills and making sure you get the most out of your placement. However, I have noticed this varies by manager- depends on you luck!
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Biggest downside of working for GSK- a minimal amount of interns get hired back (I'd say around 20%)...
The Culture
GSK has about 300 placement students per year, and a committee of students who run social events. This was a great way to get to know more people and events were always well organised!
Salary not good enough to living in London
Even though GSK is outskirts of London, most people live centrally, so it balances out.
I did a lot of charitable work throughout placement, however, this also seems to have varied by how willing your manager was to let you take part. My experience was great but not everyone's was.
