    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Very friendly atmosphere to work in, everybody is there to help you. There is also a lot of other placement students to socialise with outside work hours.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My team highly value the work I do, and I felt welcomed from day 1. You're given important projects to lead and I am never under looked.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Support throughout placement has been amazing, whether it be work related or personal issues, they always put your wellbeing first.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • This would vary day to day, some days you are very busy then others you have time to catch up on paper work and insure all work has been completed.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • You're given a lot of responsibility, running projects and being allowed to join various projects you may be interested in.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • My personal skills have developed massively, I have improved my confidence greatly after needing to present projects to employees and suppliers! My knowledge on working in a major company has also improved greatly, I have definitely matured a lot.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Great! The atmosphere is friendly and motivating. Everyone in the office is friendly and chatty, I have never not felt welcomed. There is a great balance between working and being able to catch up with other peoples project.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • There was a few issues with all the signatures needed from SRG, as the instructions on what you needed to do were not clear enough. Other than that all the support was in place, information about the site, town and accommodation was given.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They invested a lot of time in improving my skills, from feedback and CV lectures, and to many online training courses. Everyone is up to date with all training required, and there is opportunity to complete your own training that you feel may also help you.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Working from home

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The job opportunity is great, there is an amazing grad scheme on offer to everyone. I would be happy to come back and see how different areas of the company works.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was an amazing social scene with other students. Regularly meet up on weekends for nights out/day trips and most of us have already been travelling with each other during the year. I feel like I have made life long friends here.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The cost of living is quite high, and also when you'd want to go out it was never cheap. Accommodation is very expensive compared to university housing.

    1/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The night life in Ware is quite, they have a very big pub culture so is always a good pub night out! Hertford town is 2mins away on the train and has a great night life, including numerous night clubs!

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • As you live so close to London you can pop in after work/weekends. London has never-ending opportunities. I have also managed to join a local netball club and have loved playing for them, it is luckily only a 10min walk from where I live. If you look for the activities there is no doubt that you will find somewhere to do it.
