The Role
The opportunity to work full time for a year enabled me to develop my skills as a young professional. I have learned so much and have enjoyed doing so.
Incredibly valued. I immediately felt part of the team, I was given real responsibility. My colleagues relied upon me to get the job done.
Whenever I asked, my line manager would be happy to sit down with me and discuss my development and objectives. I also had regular check ins with other colleagues which involved feedback and support.
Incredibly busy most of the time. Things move incredibly quickly at ViiV Healthcare and for the communications team it is important to keep up with the pace in order to deliver successful communication to internal and external stakeholders.
Lots of responsibility. I was responsible for the maintenance of internal and external online channels and I also owned some internal projects. I was required to meet deadlines and my abilities as a young professional were completely trusted.
The skills I have learned during my placement year will set me up for a successful career regardless of which sector. I have also learned to manage my time and remain focused, something that will be beneficial during my final year.
The Company
Incredibly friendly, flat structured and everyone seemed approachable.
My role and responsibilities were handed over to me from the previous IP. I was very clear on what I was required to do and where I fit within the team.
We had various sessions with line managers and HR.
Company Parties/Events
I have applied for the graduate programme where I hope to be successful.
The Culture
Yes, there were 6 other IP students at ViiV Healthcare along with other young colleagues on the floor. we all get on very well and will remain friends when we go our separate ways.
I commuted.
Brentford doesn't have nightlife.
there were lunchtime clubs such as football and touch rugby which I played.
