The Role
The work placement was extremely enjoyable as it challenged the skill set that I already possessed as well as allowing me to further develop my skills. I also gained a lot of experience of how a global company operates and the impact the organisation has on the world.
I was treated very well by my fellow colleagues and did not feel like i was a industrial placement student.
I was very lucky to have an excellent line manager that was not only supportive but also was my mentor and guided me through any challenges that I faced during the placement.
I was fairly busy but i would not say i was overloaded with work. My manager was very careful and always made sure i had a good work life balance.
I was given responsibility form the very first day of my placement as this was based on my skill set that was judged by my line manager.
The skills and experience that I have gained is invaluable and can be used through the rest of my life. The wide variety of tasks that i carried out will support me in the future and also give me a better insight when it comes to my university work.
The Company
The atmosphere was very good and everyone had a very positive attitude which was great help.
It was very well organised as at the start of the placement me and my line manager sat down and we planned out the whole year which made everything run seamlessly.
I was sent on as many training sessions as possible .
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
I have applied for the future leaders program which if i am successful will mean I can join GSK after graduation.
The Culture
There was many social events on through out the year.
I was living at home and commuting so did not have to pay too much.
I was based in london. I dont think i have to say much more.
There was a lot of team building exercises as well as charity work opportunities.
