The Role
I really enjoyed the one year placement in Xerox, my role, my team, etc. However, I don't think I would like to do the same role after my graduation.
Everyone respects each other in our team.
I did several training and course in different arears, e.g. H&S, software package, etc.
I had a time frame to work on everyday. It was pretty much the same amount of workload everyday. I worked from 9am to 5.30pm.
The role I played provides the information system service to the whole Xerox UK ltd.
Time management, application of software.
The Company
Very friendly and supporting.
Xerox has had the IP scheme for 10 years. It's very well organised.
I was introduced to the people in Finance dep and they introduced me their daily job and use of software packages.
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Above 25 days holiday
Xerox offers graduate scheme. However, I will do a Master degree after my graduation.
The Culture
There were more than 30 students on Uxbridge campus on my placement year. It can be like being at university, just with having to do the real work.
The cost of living in Uxbridge is quite reasonable. It's also very convenient to go to London for a social event.
Liquide is most popular pub in Uxbridge. Many students from Brunel univeristy go out at night.
Yes, our IP students organised and participate many event, e.g. Marathon, UK Cancer Research Charity, etc.
