The Role
I really enjoyed my time at IBM. I was placed in a very supportive team and enjoyed working with a large number of interns, meaning there is always a reason for social opportunities,
I feel my work was always valued and was able to see it used at a high level
I developed a close relationship with my manager, despite her not being based in Southbank, and also with my senior manager, I had no issues approaching them with questions or queries,
My main role included many weekly tasks that kept me busy, and during quieter times, I found it easy to find new tasks.
I was given a lot of responsibility in my role, although did not feel this was overwhelming as my managers and team were always onhand to help
I have developed many transferable skills that I will use to further my career
The Company
The general office environment was relaxed and friendly, There are always people available to socialize with. Some days are quiet whilst others would be really busy.
My main role was very well structured however the role I applied in on (side role) was far less structured as funding has been pulled so we were left to our own resources.
There are fantastic resources for self learning and development. There are also many opportunities to get involved in give back and course

Working from home
I would like to come back and work for IBM and I really enjoyed my work life,
The Culture
Social scenes were fantastic, largely because there are such a large number of interns based at Southbank
Prices were typical for London however IBM discount was available at a lot of local bars and resturants
There are many pubs, bars and clubs in the area which are all great for socializing,
I am now captain of the IBM Netball team. There is also a football team and the opportunity to set up any club you wish.
