The Role
I enjoyed it a lot. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. I learnt a lot however it was less technical than I would have liked.
I felt very valued, all the work I did was important and appreciated by my colleagues.
My manager was very supportive but not overbearing. If I ever needed help with my work he would make time for me.
I was usually very busy with several projects etc. to keep me busy. There were occasional weeks where there was not much to do but the work soon picked up again.
I was eased into jobs that had a high level of responsibility over the course of the placement. By the end of the placement I was given a lot of responsibility but there was always support if needed.
I gained a lot of knowledge of working in an industrial environment, in particular the pharmaceutical industry which is quite specialised. I developed skills that were more practical rather than theoretical which a lot of my degree studying has been.
The Company
My office was very friendly and a great working environment. There was lots of fun mixed in with work.
The placement is well organised, with a clear set of expectations when you arrive.
GSK invested a good amount into my training which developed me well and made me more useful for their business.

The graduate scheme is very good and provides extremely good training with great career prospects that are realised very quickly.
The Culture
There is a good amount of placement students and everyone was friendly and up for having a good time socialising after work. I made some very good friends.
The south coast is fairly expensive, however the wage paid is enough to cover this.
Brighton is extremely close and has a brilliant nightlife! Lots of great bars and clubs.
A few of the placement students organised out of work activities regularly that were usually good fun.
