The Role
PLEASE NOTE: This review was for a placement at Lloyds TSB prior to Lloyds TSB merging with HBOS to become Lloyds Banking Group. (The RateMyPlacement Team) Everyone at LTSB was very supportive. I had a great balance between being a student, but at the same time being given other responsibilities that at times, really challenged me.
I got on so well with everyone during my placement. I am still in contact with alot of my team even though I am back at university.
My manager was so helpful and incredibly supportive. She gave me real and interesting tasks to get on with, and i was never afraid to go and her ask her for help.
At times,it could be quiet but generally I had quite alot to be getting on with, and even if my manager didnt have anything for me to do, I could always ask others members of the team who were happy to give me work!!
I was given enough, but not too much responsibility. I was asked to complete tasks and then feedback to my manager so I was never really afraid of giving it a go, because she would always be honest with her feedback.
Even if i dont go into a career in HR, I have learnt some very valuable life skills and what I have learnt will definately come in useful in my final year.
The Company
Everyone was incredibly friendly and chatty, and it was lovely to go out for a drink after work, however people still took their work seriously and knuckled down when they had to.
I think the scheme could have been more structured. My feedback sessions were a bit random.
Not a great deal. It wasnt looked favourably upon for students to do extra training for their job, however the salary was good for the year, bearing in mind I didnt have a degree.
Company Parties/Events
I have decided to go into teaching but was offered a place on the graduate placement.
The Culture
They tried to organise events but I didnt get on well with all the students!
London is quite expensive so going out was always quite alot, however I lived back at home in kent so didnt have to deal with living costs in London!
There isnt alot in the city itself, a few nice restaurants and pubs but not much else!!
Not really!!
