    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • 5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Massively; the Partnership culture the John Lewis Partnership is famous for really shines through. I was trusted to take on responsibility and my views were listened to and respected. I felt they appreciated my input and this was made visible with regular informal feedback. My team and broader stakeholders were so friendly, which really helped me settling in.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • 5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • 4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Work was based in Bracknell but I lived 12 miles down the A329 in Reading - a great town with always something going on. A large student community meant there was a good (but not the best) nightlife, however you're only a 30min train journey away from central London.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • The JLP have numerous societies you can join, which are free or heavily subsidized. This is also a great opportunity to meet Partners in other areas of the business.
