The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement and have gained and developed many skills which I feel I can use in my final year at University and throughout my career. I worked within a wonderful team and was given greater responsibility throughout my placement which helped both my personal and professional growth.
My colleagues made me feel like a part of the team from the outset, always there to help me and they never made me feel like "just an intern". They were always on hand to give me all of the support I needed and I felt extremely comfortable around them.
My manager was always on hand to offer me any guidance I required. I found them very approachable to be able to discuss personal issues too, as well as giving me lots of assistance with regards to my University work which I completed alongside my placement. If ever I found times where I had completed my work on a particular day, my manager would always find additional work or challenges to develop my learning.
In general, I found there was a good work balance throughout my placement. Given the nature of the industry, there were quieter periods, but I just had to remain proactive and forthcoming with requesting to take on extra work. As long as I asked, I was never sat with nothing to do!
I was given a relatively large amount of responsibility from quite early on, earlier than I thought as an intern! This challenged me and opened up communication to the wider business, as well as making me feel more valued, rather than being viewed as "just an intern".
The technical skills I have developed will definitely help me in my degrees studies and future career, improving the efficiency and effectiveness in my work. As well as this, learning more about how a business works, especially one of this size, will be really useful in applying the theory to my degree. Some of the tools given during training days from the Intern Programme at BSH I can use in my future working life.
The Company
In general, a happy, fun and friendly environment! Albeit at times heads were down to remain focused on the work at hand, there was a lot of laughter to create the perfect balance!
Extremely well structured with no complications. Given all relevant information on my first day induction, and all other trainings and inductions completed in a timely manner at the start of my placement
The company have helped to develop my confidence massively. Personally, I would have liked to have gained more with regards to analytical skills, but what I have learned I know I can use in my future career effectively.

Company Parties/Events
There are opportunities to apply for the Graduate Internship. It's difficult to say about available jobs which I will need a year from now, as so much can change and nothing is guaranteed. However, if a job dos become available I would be very interested!
The Culture
The intern network is one of the highlights from my placement, and I'm very lucky to have made such wonderful friends!
Relatively expensive given the location, but not as outrageous as London I suppose!
Pretty good, even better when you have a good group of people with you! And taxis will be required!
There are loads of activities available in this area. Furthermore, BSH offer lots of opportunities to become involved in, such as; Marathons, Tough Mudder, Colour Run, Dragon Boat Race, and Skydiving just to name a few!
