The Role
I enjoyed most of my time within the department, there were a few days that I found myself being quite bored but this was just due to the unpredictability of work coming in.
The team made loads of effort with me and I went out for department drinks and everybody offered to stay in touch when the time came for me to leave.
I wasn't spoon fed work however when I needed help colleagues were eager to help me out and I didn't feel stupid for asking!
There were quite a few days when there just wasn't really any work for me to do. I tried to use this time productively by researching more about the company but it did sometimes get quite dull.
The tasks that I worked on were important and necessary for projects however I would obviously not expect to be given massively important reports to write as I'm completely unqualified! However through the work that I was completing I did feel like I was making a contribution to projects.
I'm not really doing a relevant degree so I don't think the skills I learnt will benefit my degree studies. However, it did help me to establish that this is the career I want to pursue so the skills will certainly help me in applying for graduate positions and hopefully eventually in my career.
The Company
It varied on a day to day basis depending on who was in, at times it was a great place to be as everybody would be in however sometimes it was quite deserted as most of the team were away at client sites.
The regional induction and introduction to the office all went really well and I felt confident in the organisation. I think it would help if the partner interviews were organised for the last week as I'm still waiting for mine and it would have been better to get it done before returning to Uni.
Obviously I didn't go on any proper training courses but people in my department were constantly offering me opportunities to develop my skills such as observing presentations or working at client sites.

Company Parties/Events
During my placement I made loads of friends within the team and I would love to return on a permanent basis. The placement reaffirmed to me that this is the company for me!
The Culture
The department I joined didn't have as many young people as in the audit department so there wasn't as much socialising but the people were still fun!
Manchester isn't too bad, and when I did go out my colleagues did consider that I was a student and may not be able to afford as much as them!
Lots to do!
I took part in the CSR days that the department organised
