    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I found the placement year very useful. There is a vast amount of opportunities available, being such a large company and a lot are offered to interns. They hire a big group so making friends is easy and a chance to see all the roles available. The roles themselves aren't career worthy, but give a good insight into the professional world.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt valued by the team that I worked within and by my manager. Externally however Operations as a role, is very thankless and you are expected to get the work done. If it get's wrong, people will say, well it's your job to do it right..

    2/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager offered me support if I went to them and my Career Manager informed me of relevant events or advice if he saw useful. I feel like more support could be given, obviously their plates are very full though and I take that into consideration.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was fairly busy day to day especially past the 6 month mark. However I do know of other interns in other roles, not being busy.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given as much responsibility as I could get for the work that I do. If I did something wrong, it was me, and I had to ensure targets were met.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I developed my professional network and communication skills the most. The work I completed was repetitive however it did make me organized and meet deadlines. The experience in general gave me more of an insight and 'experience' of the professional world rather than new skills.
