The Role
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Volkswagen group, as it is such a diverse place to work being home to 5 international brands. Everybody I have met has been great to work with and really keen to help undergrads get the most out of their time here.
As a team we all work really well together and I definitely feel a valued member. I am given a lot of responsibility in my day-to-day role as well as my own project which has pushed and developed me further.
My manager and team have been a great support to me through out my time at Volkswagen Group, as they have helped develop my skills in all different areas by giving me a diverse range of tasks. I have been able to get involved in other projects around the business alongside my day-to-day role which have developed me as person, which my team have always been fully supportive of.
Depending on the time of the month, I have busier days than others. It is very rare that I have nothing to do as I usually have a project or analysis to get on with if I don't have any standard reporting to be doing.
My role has supplied me with lots of responsibility to time manage and create accurate reports that are sent all over the business. It is my responsibility to ensure the data is accurate and I meet the deadline as people all over the business rely on them.
I have gained and developed so many skills during my placement year, in particular my excel skills which I know will massively help during my last year of studies and be invaluable to my future career. As well as this, I have enhanced my presentational skills by being put in front of various different audiences throughout my placement, making me a much more confident public speaker.

I am really enthusiastic about returning to Volkswagen Group UK on the graduate programme, as I am keen to learn and develop my skills in other areas of the business. I think the automotive industry is a really exciting industry to be a part of at the moment, and I would love to carry on being a part of it.
The Culture
The cost of living wasn't too expensive considering how close to London by train Milton Keynes is and most leisure activities (eating out, bowling etc.) is standard.
Night life is quite expensive and limited due there being no student population in Milton Keynes, which is why it is great to have a large group of undergraduates to socialise with. However, there are lots of bars in the Hub area in central Milton Keynes.
There are lots of gyms, fitness clubs and Xscape has a huge range of sports and extreme sports to get involved in. There are also a few lakes with activities nearby to get involved in.
