The Role
My placement had been beyond enjoyable, fun and an extremely valuable experience.
I felt very valued by my colleagues, especially my team who made me feel like an integral team member from the first day I joined the business. They've made it clear several times that they want me back after uni.
The placement scheme involved a 3-month in-class and on-the-job training. I was also given 3 mentors and a buddy. Everyone was super supportive, approachable, open and always happy to help.
I was always kept busy on a daily basis, however the amount of work varied throughout the year. While September - December can get extremely busy, summer months are much more relaxed.
I was given a fair amount of responsibility, however I felt like at times I could be given more independence in my work.
I've never learned as much in my life as I did in the last 12 months I spent at TJX. I'm sure that a great proportion of what I've learned will be useful in my degree. More importantly though, the knowledge and skills I acquired are definitely going to make me a valuable employee after I graduate.
The Company
Everyone in the office was always very friendly, open and fun.
The placement was very well structured, particularly the 3-month training at the very beginning.
TJX Europe invested a great amount of money in my personal development, starting from the intensive in-class and on-the-job 3-month training through various soft skills sessions to about 15 trips to Europe throughout the last 12 months.

The future employment prospects in TJX Europe are very appealing, from career in Marketing, to Buying, Merchandising or New Stores Operations.
The Culture
Since we were all allocated to different departments spread throughout various buildings, the social scene amongst my fellow placement students was naturally limited.
Rather expensive, although still cheaper than central London.
Not amazing since the office is based in London. However, there are still places to go, e.g. several pubs and bars where everyone goes to on Fridays.
Not many at all, mainly charity-related.
