The Role
I was given a lot of responsibility, learnt valuable things and loved the work environment.
I was trusted with a lot of key projects and colleagues respected my work!
I was given a lot of support throughout my internship, but also a lot of independence.
It depended on the time of year - E3, Gamescom and game releases it got mad and I was rushed, but I loved being busy. Other times, after daily jobs were done, I was sometimes searching for 101 jobs or other jobs to get stuck into.
I couldn't ask for more responsibility as an intern, it wasn't getting everyone's drinks, I had real projects to fulfill.
The experience I have gained will give me so much I couldn't have learnt elsewhere. I now know what specific department of marketing I want to be a part in the future.
The Company
A lot of fun and I enjoyed being a big part of the team. Sometimes a lot worked from home but I was given flexibility so I want alone in the office.
It was very organised as the intern fills the same role every year. When new projects were introduced the introduction was carried out professionally so the new job fit in to the schedule perfectly.
I was given training by a previous intern, which was perfect because who could be better to inform me. There was little other training throughout the year, although I could volunteer for things outside my job role to gain extra experience.

You can definitely see why people want to work here as an FTE as they look after their employees well. However, it may be a little different to come back as a contractor - which there a lot of.
The Culture
My team rarely went out together, except if someone was leaving or if was the Christmas party. However amongst interns you could easily plan a social, it's like being at uni.
I don't like Reading itself and it is quite expensive for what you get. You also get the last pick as it's the houses left after all of the students have picked. The nights out aren't the best (especially when I've had the choice of Manchester at uni) and a lot of the bars and restaurants are chains, but with the right people and attitude you can make anything fun. A little pricier than what I'm used to but not as pricey as London, which is very close by for a day out.
Would not recommend the nightlife, especially compared to what other cities offer. However, right crowd and attitude you can make any night out a good one.
I didn't really look into this very much as work offered a lot and I was so busy, but I'm sure with some hunting you can find what you want.
