The Role
Genuinely got to do some amazing work and everyone was super nice and accommodating the whole time. 10/10.
Totally valued. Never really felt like I was being give 'intern work' but was a real, valued & relied upon member of the team.
All the support I could have been given. Never felt smothered but always support if and when I needed it.
Some days very busy but there were odd times I was short of work.
More than I ever thought I would be. My favourite thing about the year was the level of responsibility I was given.
Learned A LOT that will be invaluable in the real world - not sure how much it will help in my last year of academia though.
The Company
Relaxed & jovial.
Felt very structured and was a clear pathway for me to follow.
Massively. Not in formal training sessions but every day in time & responsibility they gave me. No one was every to busy (not matter how actually busy they were), to sit down and explain something to me.
A clear pathway into the grad scheme that is not guaranteed but an option.
The Culture
Very good social scene. Never not someone to drink a pint/cup of tea with after work.
Average.
Average however very close to London so, if that's your thing, you have some incredible options on your door step.
Yes - sports clubs, social events, strong social scene amongst the interns.
